Khenpo Chochok

Khenpo Chochok – the title khenpo is equivalent to a doctorate in Buddhist philosophy, obtained after approximately ten years of studying texts, commentaries, and biographies of Buddhist masters. This title particularly grants the right to teach Buddhist philosophy.
Born in the 1960s, Khenpo Karma Chochok became a monk at the age of twenty. He studied in Nepal and later at the Nalanda Institute in Rumtek, in the Indian state of Sikkim, where he earned the khenpo title. He taught Buddhist philosophy and the Tibetan language at the Karmapa International Buddhist Institute (KIBI) in New Delhi, as well as in several European countries, while also undertaking numerous meditation retreats.
Khenpo Chochok is known for his openness, relaxed demeanor, simplicity, and emphasis on dialogue in transmitting an authentic and profound understanding of the Buddha’s teachings.
He has also lived in various Western countries, including the USA, Russia, and France. Currently, he resides mainly in Nepal, at the retreat center in Namo Buddha, founded by Lodro Rabsel Rinpoche. At the request of the Karmapa, he also teaches at KIBI.
Over the past few years, Khenpo Chochok has visited our Khyenkong Karma Kagyu Poland center multiple times, offering profound and precious teachings in his accessible style.
