On the 19th of March 2016 we received a letter from our teacher – His Eminence Beru Khyentse Rinpoche announcing his wish to visit Poland after over 20 years. The message was the result of many years of talks conducted with Rinpoche as well as his close connection with Poland. Thrilled by this extraordinary news, we gathered the Rinpoche’s sangha in Poland at an accelerated pace. It appeared that many of Rinpoche’s students are here: people who received empowerments or the ones who met him during their trips to India or Nepal. There are also people who remember Rinpoche’s previous visits, back in 1980s and 1990s. All those who felt connection and wished to help in the organization of his visit in September 2016 were invited. This is how the Rime Foundation was born. The main goal of the Foundation is to disseminate the teachings of Karma Kagyu tradition through translation, publication of books and organisation of lectures.
Thus, the Khyenkong Karma Kagyu Centre in Poland was established. His Eminence Beru Khyentse Rinpoche and Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche gave an official name to the centre, taking it under their auspices. The name “Khyenkong” is a combination of two elements: ”Khyen” for “Khyentse”, and “Kong” for “Kongtrul”. The centre is situated in the heart of Warsaw, at Aleje Jerozolimskie 11/19, where all the lectures and courses take place.
Our mission is to propagate the authentic teachings of the Karma Kagyu Lineage, as well as to work for the Dharma, acting in the power field of His Holiness 17th Karmapa Trinley Thaye Dorje. With blessing of our noble mentors, we are creating a place for meeting, meditating and discussing with lamas, Rinpoches and khenpos who share their knowledge and experience with us.
We organize not only lectures and empowerments but also common meditations and short dedicated retreats. The Publishing House of Rime Foundation publishes newly translated source materials drawn directly from the Karmapa’s library in KIBI, such as The Mahamudra of the 9th Karmapa with the commentary of His Eminence Beru Khyentse Rinpoche.
We are inviting all those who would like to engage into further development of the Khyenkong Karma Kagyu Poland centre.
Beru Khyentse Rinpoche also suggested that we should found a centre for all the aforementioned activities in the vicinity of Warsaw.
