Farewell to Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche before his retreat

Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche made the decision to complete a traditional 3-year retreat for the benefit of all sentient beings.

During the ceremony preceding the retreat, Rinpoche celebrated a Puja for the Lamas who complete the retreat together with him. The following day the Drubkang was opened for visitors and Mahakala Puja was performed. Rinpoche invited the guests for lunch, after which, in the retinue of the Lamas and gathered students from all over the world, he performed the Kora, visiting the temples of Guru Rinpoche, Tara and Dorje Pamo, where he was welcomed by venerable Chokyi Nima Rinpoche.

Two days before leaving for the retreat, Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche gave instructions and guidelines concerning the functioning of his Centre in Poland. He also ensured that he did not see any significant obstacles to the development of the Centre in the coming years.

We are very happy about Rinpoche’s decision and express our wish that no difficulties arise during his retreat.

Khenpo Chochok   26.07-05.08

26.07 – Arrival and if will be possible 18:30 – lecture

27.07 – 30.07 – The two faces of the mind – Namshe Yeszie

Mind has two aspects : yeshe and namshe, in Tibetan. Yeshe is a dimension of wisdom, of clear thinking which recognizes itself and which recognizes the emotions as being a part of itself. Namshé is a consciousness that is limited, separated or disconnected. We are now in this consciousness which is full of confusion and disturbances. But yeshe and namshe, wisdom and confusion, are two aspects of the mind. Therefore, even if we wanted to, we could not get rid of the emotions, we can neither stop them, nor give them up. What is relevant, however, is to understand how the emotions function, how they come up and from where they come. Khenpo Chochok gives lecture based on རྣམ་ཤེས་ཡེ་ཤེས་འབྱེད་པ་, Namshe Yeshe Jepa by 3rd Karmapa Ranjung Dorje
